I will be travelling for much of next year and will no longer be able to serve as editor of the Echo. It has been an honour working with so many talented and dedicated people in the community for the past five years. But now the time has come to pass the baton on to someone else.
While the paper can and must depend on community volunteers, I believe that eventually, in order to secure its future, it must be able to pay for some of the services that go into to putting out a newspaper. To do that, the Echo needs to double its advertising revenue. I plan to work at that and invite any to join me info@lowertownecho.ca.
Meanwhile, the Echo is looking for a new editor.
