Board of Directors Report
Sylvie Bigras, Co-President

The Lowertown Community Association (LCA) Board of Directors has been very busy on a number of files over the last few months. These include participation in and sharing information on a number of consultations, such as Housing and Homelessness (led by MPP Collard), the Nightlife Economy (City of Ottawa) and the City of Ottawa’s Master Transportation Plan. We report on these and other items at our monthly LCA Community meetings, which are held the second Monday of every month at 7pm.
Current priorities for our Board include safety and security in our community, “Occupation” follow-ups with the City, Heritage Conservation District planning, re-opening of the Routhier CommunityCentre, parks and green spaces and arts and culture opportunities such as the “Homes” exhibit, co-curated by Ottawa Black Artists Collective and held in the Byward Market.
We have a vibrant and historic community and are working to make it a great place to live, visit and work in! We are still looking for a few more volunteers to join our great group on the Board; please connect with us at info@lowertown-basseville.ca if you are interested.
Cheers and a happy Spring to everyone!
