An afternoon of art and conversation – all for a good cause
On a lovely autumn afternoon, join us in the ByWard Market precinct for Ottawa’s first ARTWALK, a benefit event for the homeless, which will combine a good conversation with a tour of the ByWard Market’s vibrant art scene.
THE CONVERSATION – Start after lunch at the open-air Amphitheatre of the National Gallery of Canada. Internationally renowned Canadian artist/photographer Geneviève Cadieux will talk with popular TV host, Lucy van Oldenbarneveld about growing up in Ottawa, her life as an artist and how it feels to see the largest work she has ever created now hanging on the outer walls of the National Gallery of Canada.
THE WALK – Take a tour of the private galleries in the ByWard Market, offering art for all tastes, and enjoy encounters with some of their artists. Map and brochure will be provided.
THE FINALE – The afternoon wraps up at the Ottawa Art Gallery with exclusive access to its current exhibitions.
PROCEEDS from this event will be donated primarily to the Minwaashin Healing Lodge, a facility that helps Indigenous women and their families who are victims of violence. Shelters in the By Ward Market will also receive a donation.

Par une agréable après-midi d’automne, joignez-vous à nous dans le quartier du marché By à l’occasion de la première Promenade des arts d’Ottawa, un événement au profit des sans-abri, qui combine conversation et visite de la scène artistique dynamique des environs.
LA CONVERSATION – Début après dîner dans l’amphithéâtre en plein air du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada. L’artiste-photographe canadienne de renommée internationale Geneviève Cadieux s’entretiendra avec Lucy van Oldenbarneveld, célèbre animatrice télé, à propos de son enfance à Ottawa, sa vie d’artiste et sa réaction devant la présentation sur les murs extérieurs du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada de son œuvre la plus imposante.
LA PROMENADE – Visitez les galeries privées à proximité du marché By, qui proposent de l’art pour tous les goûts, et profitez de rencontres avec certains des artistes qu’elles représentent. Plan et brochure offerts.
LA FINALE – L’après-midi se termine à la Galerie d’art d’Ottawa, avec accès exclusif à ses expositions actuelles.
LES REVENUS de cet événement iront principalement au Minwaashin Healing Lodge, organisme qui vient en aide aux femmes autochtones et à leurs familles qui sont victimes de violence. Les refuges dans le marché By recevront aussi un don.
